1. All information, including your credit card number, is encrypted and only sent over secure Internet lines. While using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, your Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer browser will let you know when the line is secure. With Netscape Navigator, the "key" icon located in the bottom left corner should be complete with no breaks. Internet Explorer uses a "lock" icon for its browser. The "lock" will appear on the browser when using a secure line. On both browsers the "http:" pre-fix will read "https:" when accessing a secure server. If these indicators are present, you can be confident of a secure data transaction.
2. We do not store any credit card information on our web server. Once your order is placed, we send the order to our main order processing system using a "one-way" private network. After the order is sent, all credit card information is deleted from our web order records. As the web server is directly linked to the Internet, it does have some exposure to hackers. However, with this security policy, if someone were to hack into the website, they would not find any credit card information.
3. As mentioned above, we do not store credit card information on our web server. We use our main operating system to house all order records including credit card numbers. This system is not accessible from the Internet and sits behind various "firewalls" to keep it safe from break-in. Both systems (operating and web) also have internal security measures that make hacking very difficult, even if someone obtains illegal access.
